Unwanted files and links have suddenly popped up in my computer's "favourites" section, but no matter how I right-click on it, they cannot be deleted. And even when I go to the Organise section, they don’t show there. And pop-ups often happen.

ok this sounds like a browser virus. It will be a small file hidden on your computer that causes pop ups etc... It often installs tool bars etc.. Its a sort of spyware.

You should find that it tries to replace your search page or home page. Find the address it keeps refers you too and do an internet search for it using google or yahoo. There are programs about to clear most of these infections.

Start your PC in 'safe mode' (F8 during boot up) and run a virus scan on all your drives.

This should get the little blighter ;)
