how do you open a kenmore vaccum model 116 338 1690 C?

I want to change the power cord on the vacuum cleaner but don't know how to take the cover off to get where the old power cord is.
Can anyone help?

on my kenmore there is a grey pop up cover in the top back where the motor exhaust filter is, there are two more screws there.

That vacuum is a Panasonic MC-V9644. I found 2 screws under the semi-circular arms that holds the accessories cover. Can somebody tell us how to get to the other 2?
