these screens break a lot anyway. new ones are available online for about $20. there is a site called http://repair4mobilephone.org/disassembly_nokia.html
they don't have a 5300 breakdown yet but after reading some of the instructions for similar phones, do it yourself. Or mail it back to nokia, don't say anything about the cause, and see what they say. They contact you with details, the only thing you pay is shipping on that estimate ($7.00 each way)
