My Zanussi Jetsystem 1400 display going blank?

My Zanussi Jetsystem 1400 display going blank and machine stopping, mid cycle. Or some times when switching on, I can select the cycle OK, but on pressing start all the display goes blank. Pressing buttons randomly can bring the display back to life. (This may be a reset that I get by mistake).

The problem seems to have ‘gone away’ after I have un-plugged and remade all the connectors in the machine.
