My Electrolux EPIC 6500SR comes on but the power head does not?

My Electrolux EPIC 6500SR comes on but the powerhead does not. I have reset the button on top of the powerhead but nothing happens. ANy assistance would be greatly apprectiated.

Most likely the swivel neck where the wand connects to the power head is broken inside. When this happens it catches the wires inside the neck where it swivels and they become disconnected.

To check this remove the little button like cover on the swivel, it looks like a little asprin. Lift it off with a real sharp knive or box cutter. Under this is a little screw, it is either a very small philips head, or a #10 torx.

Remove the screw and take off the cover you will see the wires inside and also llikely a broken neck. You can only get this part from the Electrolux now called AERUS store local to you. Look in the yellow pages under vacuum for AERUS. It is a very inexpensive part, and easy to change.

Send me a note if you have more questions....
