For some time now my dryer has not been working properly. It starts heating up and then goes cold during the cycle. There is a noise like a tractor but the drum still rotates.Can some one help? I can not afford a new one at present and need a dryer since I have no other means of drying the kids clothes and going to the laundry is quite costly.
If drum turning, could be, driven directly off main motor shaft, condenser fan (front) rare. Could be heater fan bearing tight or drive belt (rear) not so rare. A clue is a loud squeal when the drum reverses.
