telephone wiring?

during redecoration we accidentally cut through the telephone cable to the telephone extension upstairs. We need to rewire the extension - we have all the bits.

It is a BT landline with just a normal extension.

We are in the "silver surfer" region so we could use some help without having to buy a BT engineer to come and fix it.

Connect the blue and white to pin 2 and the white and blue to pin 5. You can fit orange and white to pin 4 if you like but it's only needed for old phones. DO NOT use any of the other wires (White and Orange, green and white, and white and green) they are not needed.

All the wires are colour coded..... just repeat what you already have, or if you can gain a bit of slack on the cable you cut, simply rejoin the wires with connector block.
