Gilera DNA 125 2001, will not start through ignition?

My Gilera DNA will not start now after i stupidly try to charge the battery while connected to the bike and i believe i put the positive and negative round the wrong way, there was a huge bang and the fuse in the charger blew. Now there is no instrument dispaly, lights, indicators and when i try to connect the battery the bike tries to start itself. The four main fuses are fine - what is wrong/ Please help. Ross

there are 2 different fuses your four main fuses are nrear your battery. follow your positive lead from the battery and you will find a single fuse... this is the main fuse try it had the same problem.......

you can try and check the wiring system you could of melted some wires wich will cause metal to metal contact wot will explain ur bike tryin to start itself

The other reason is that the wires on the right hand side of the bike inderneath the throttle have burnt out and fused together lol im still dealing with this problem

Right what i do in the morning is start the bike (well when it starts) and let it warm up 5 bars on the temp and it runs a dream till i stop some were and let it go cold and then when i warm it up again and after that it just keeps cuting out.

could some one shed some light on what it could be thanks.

hi there

i had the same problem with mine. you need to find your relays and remove them and then re connect the battery and then put the relays back in this should solve your problem your relays should be under the rear fairing. hope this helps you
