how do i change a thermostat in my 2001 silhouette

This is pretty simple. look at your radiator and you'll have to unplug or unscrew a draining bolt from underneath the radiator, then open the top of the water refill point to allow the rest of excess water to drain out. you'll find the thermostat above or next to the engine with two rubber pipes running thorugh it. you'll need to unbolt the bolts (theres should be two either side) then removet the top part and throw away the old gasket. pull the thermostat out and replace it. same goes for the therostat gasket. When this is done bolt everything back together and put some watter back in the tank. turn the car on and slowly add more water at the rediator refill point untill at appropriate level....thats that half an hour it should take you first time....
