Hi,
Have you checked the belt that drives the pump or the fluid level in the system. If these are ok you may need the services of a mechanic unless you know someone who is handy with the spanners.

Reent model?? Power steering is supplied via the alternator - ie it's electric!!! Suspect alternator.
