2001 Hyundai 1.6 se coupe won,t start!!?

Help, The good ladies coupe has refused to start. She went to work in the car today no problem infact no problem at all in the past 2 years. She came back to the car at dinner and all it does is just turn over no attempt to fire up, there is no smell of petrol if it has been 'flooded'. Could it be an immobilisor problem.Tried all the keys including the purple master key no joy.Can anyone help. Thanks C M

2005 coupe SE. Had same problem for about 3 years. She runs perfectly but every now and then won't start. Had crank shaft sensor changed.. No good... Reprogrammed keys ... No good. Just bought new key from hyundai at £110 ... No different.
They say never heard of this problem but see lots of posts on different website.
Seems fir some reason car doesn't recognise MY key so shuts down as thinks I am a thief. Leave from 30 mins to overnight and OK. BIG HASSLE when I have an appointment. Hyundai can do electrical diagnostics at loads of money but NO guarantee will find fault.
Does anyone have the answer as I love the car and NO other problems in TEN years.

i bet my house on it that its the crank sensor you can find it at the front of the block to the right of the exhaust, (hyundai technician)

I have a 2005 accent, which had its smarta (sp?) unit replaced. This is the part which reads the chip on the key. What happened was the car would start then immediatly cut out again, so it doesn't sound like an immobiliser problem. Unfort i don't know the answer to what it could be. The extent of my knowledge is that maybe the ignition coil has gone... this would mean the car would turn over but no spark would be produced at the spark plug, so the car wouldn't fire up. The only other thing it could be that i know of is something blocking your air supply. There is a whole host of other things that could cause it from ecu failure to a dodgy fuel guage, and therefor no petrol (don't laugh happened to a mate) sorry i can't be more helpful
