Homelite XL2 exhaust muffler?

My exhaust muffler is loose and rattling. How do I tighten it back up? Is the top of it supposed to pop off or something? If so how? Mine must be rusted together if it is supposed to separate.

in the center of the muffler on the exhaust side there is a small hole. the muffler is held on with a alan head screw.
