help me fix my craftsman ez3 model: 917376290 walk behind mower?

I It seems that Gas does not get down into the carberator. I took carb off mower and lowered it to a lower level and gas runs right in and through the carb and out on to the ground. Once the carb is fitted back on to its proper position on the mover it will not start and no gas flows into the carb. If i pour a little gas in to the carb it starts with one crank and runs like heck untill that small amt. of added gas burns up... I would appreciate any advice. helppppppp. many thanks.

check to see if there is a crack or split in the primer bulb - especially where it seals to the carb body, there may be an air leak. Test this by having a helper hold the bulb in while you start it. be very careful, of course.

Sounds like you have the opposite of my problem, which is excessive flow to the carb chamber even when the mower isn't running. You may have a partially-clogged line from the tank to the carb. The primer bulb is helping you get fuel into the carb chamber.

Try draining the tank and checking the cleanliness of the line that is clamped from the bottom of the tank to the carb chamber. Replace and refill with FRESH gas.

May not be the ultimate fix, but this is where I'd start.
