Bob is probably right.
I had a similar problem when I got a shock while refilling the salt. I traced it to a loose earth wire in the supply socket. The supplied plug is moulded on, so it it is most likely a fault on the supply side.

you are completing a path to ground, check that your washer is actually grounded at wiring junction box on unit, I bet not, and you may have other problem with unit
