Thermal fuse for GHD 3.1b?

Detail on thermal fuse states PSE JET 6A 250V 216 Centigrade, cannot find same anywhere on net, any suggestions?

the fact that the thermal has blown indicates that you have had a problem with ghd overheating, not only will you need a thermal fuse you will require heating to be calibrated,not easy unless you have high temp thermometer. if you care to e-mail me I can tell you a way that might help.jonsemple@talktalk.net

Hi

You need a thermal fuse of 220 degrees as the irons heat to 200 degrees. The only ones I've found of this temp are at www.maplin.co.uk but they dont have the same ceramic body as the one mounted behind the ceramic heater plate on the switched side of your iron but you can easily mount it in the same place with the original supplied spring plate. Don't use a soldering iron tho as it will blow the fuse unless you position a large metal body (such as the jaws of a vice or mole grips) between the soldering point and the fuse body. Good luck.
