how can i open the glove box on Citroen xsara SX, it seems to be stuck?

Citroen xsara SX, W reg, glove box will not open, I did not lock it and the key will not turn. is there another way of opening the glove box preferably without causing any damage?

They often fail. A replacement from a breakers will be about £25-£35 and will be the whole box. It's not diffcult to swap over just a bit fiddly.

I had the same problem. I had to lever from the top with a crowbar, then use velcro to keep ithe glovebox closed.
It is a common fault.
