Mondeo Remote Central Locking Key Needs Resetting?

My Mondeo key has ceased to function. I have changed the batteries but I think the remote needs to be reprogrammed to the car. I once had a guide sheet on how to reset the key fob. Can anyone help.

Hi Dave. Here is the answer - I hope!

1 Turn the ignition on and off 4 times within 3 seconds
2 Remove the key. The system is now in learn mode for 20 secs. The LED next to the clock is on continously
3 During this 20 secs press one of the transmitter buttons. The LED starts to flash
4 Wait until learn mode expires (20 secs) or switch the ignition back to ON

I got this info from a website some time ago. Can't remember the URL but hope there's no copyright on it. It worked for me - T Reg Mondeo LX

It's simple to re-program the key. All you do is put the key into the ignition and turn it from '0' to 'II' and back 4 times within 3 seconds. If you have done this correctly, the car will sound a confirmation beep and the warning LED light on the centre console clock will be illuminated. Once the confirmation sound has gone off, press a button on the remote, and the key will re-program itself to the car. Either turn the ignition on or wait 20 seconds for the 'window of opportunity' to close to carry on..

Hope this helps!!
