Electolux LE motor bad?

I opened the cover and found the motor armature had a burnt spot on it. I filed it smoothe cleaned it , but it ran very bad, sparked, stopped. I think it needs a new motor. Can I get one inexpensively or should I just throw it all in the dump? Where should I get the motor? Thanks for any help. Steve

Since you know how to open the vacuum and have already done some work on the motor, you seem to have enought knowledge to change the motor.

Go to a local vacuum shop, ask how much they sell the motor for, it maybe about $100 or so. If you do the labor, you will have vacuum that will last another 10-15 years. If you buy a $100 vacuum it will last 2 years and it will not clean as well as your 'rebuilt' electrolux.

Send me a note and I will help you find a local shop if you would like...danddvacuum@comcast.net
