When should I change the timing belt on my vectra?

at how many miles or years should I change the timing belt on my 2002 1.6 16v vtech engine vauxhall vectra?
Claire, April 2007
it is recommended that it all the parts (belt and pulleys) are changed after 40,00 miles as the pulleys can fail before the belt prior to 80,00 miles as in the handbook suggests

Spencer, May 2007
80,000 miles or eight years. whichever is sooner. Replace the idler and tensioner pullies at the same time, these usually fail before the belt.
