What Should I do?

We reinstalled windows XP. Usually I never have a problem with the CD or DVD player displaying along with the C, D, E drives and then would show the Disc player- but now, It shows nothing. Finally after restarting and repluging, the display in place of the Disc player appears as a hard drive with a big red question mark. What should I do?

THanks,
Scott E.

Bill,

Go into Control panel and then select 'device manager'. Look down the list of items to find your CD drive (it may be in hard drives as you have said). Right click on the drive and then select 'properties'. Select 'update driver' (yuo may have to be connected to the internet in order to locate the newest file for the drive). Once it updates everything should be o.k.
