Removal of vauxhall corsa ignition barrel?

I have a vauxhall corsa and need to remove the ignition barrel. its the basic corsa on a p reg, i have already removed the back part of the barrel and at the moment have to start the car with a screwdriver whilst the key is in the ignition.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

When replacing barrel, make sure that the brass mechanism is pushed to the bottom to allow the barrel to be locked in place.

put the key in turn it to 1, take the grub screws out and away u go.... if u wanting a 'quick fix' on the steering barrel to get the steerinbg lock off, get a 40mm socket with a long bar, put it onthe barrel and push down really hard, 'snap' dig the bits of barrel out and start with screw driver. shabang ur in. cos ur obv a crap theif i will even tell u how to get in to the thing aswell. bend the door back or pop the door handle off

turn the switch to the 1st position then insert a small drill bit or similar into the hole in the switch body. Then the barrel will just pull out.
