my homelite timberman 45 chainsaw starts then bogs out 20"?

homelite chainsaw starts then bogs down when you hit the trigger. If you feather the trigger it will try to run then will cut out. if left to idle after initial start will idle for 5-10-seconds then cut out. I put new fuel in after a winter of sitting there still same reaction. I'm looking for a rebuild kit for the carb. with a new air filter. Is this a good idea to do? any info would help? is rebuild a good idea? where can I get parts? Is there something else I should check for better operation?
Thanks

Need illustrated parts list. Chain brake to tight, and a loose spring.

could be a carburator adjustment...try easy thing before removing carburator....too much gas or air when full throttle

all the other answers are wrong sorry for all you that tried but im a true mechanic and have experienced this problem with many homelites. You will need to clean the carb(not the problem but should be done, replace the fuel filter and then re-jet the carberator there is an H on the side of the saw this means High jet and this will need to be re adjusted so it can rev high.

Sounds to me like fuel starvation. Try cleaning out the carb. as a jet may be blocked. Check that the air filter is clean first of all and work from there.

I have this same chain saw. It sounds like a dirty spark plug to me. This is to tough spark plug to get in stores. If you cann't find this plug try sparkplugs.com
