Speedfight 2, cuts out, won't start?

Speedfight 2 50cc (2006) runs OK but if left to tickover (revs set OK) will stop after about 2mins (like at traffic lights) unless occasionally rev it up. Once stopped the engine will not restart until it is left for about 30mins then it starts OK as if nothing has happened. Dealer has no idea what is wrong. Any ideas what the cause might be.

it could be that the main jet in the carb has got a sight blockage remove the air filter and the carb unscrew the base and remove the float you can then see the main jet ( is the bit the throttle needle sits in ) remove it with a flat head screwdriver and blow through it this should sort the problem out failing that if the bike is not used very often it could have contaminated petrol just drain the tank and refill

Rotate the tickover screw clockwise. if you cannot find the tickover screw look below ur airbox which is on the left and you should find a screw with a spring wrapped round thread.
