I think I had the same problem - the blower would only deliver the fastest speed, nothing happened on settings I or II. If that's your problem, then I reckon it's the resistor. If you can solder, read on. You need to take off the glove box lid (8mm bolts I think underneath the hinges at left & right ends of the lid), then the brace running across (also 8mm bolts I think. You'll need selection of sockets & ring spanners as it's a bit fiddly). You should then be able to see the blower mechanism on the left & the heater matrix behind the centre console on the right. There's a plate held in place with self-tappers - undo & remove carfully. You can identify it as it has wires leading into it.There's a sort of plug thingy that you'll need to remove if you want to repair on a workbench. Inside there's an assembly of three coils of wire, which correspond to the speed settings. One or more will be broken. They live in the airflow from blower to heater & I think the airflow is meant to keep them cool enough not to melt. Obviously it doesn't. Find some wire (I used fuse wire) about the same length & diameter as the broken bit. Form into a coil, & solder in place of the broken wire. Then reassemble. I "lost" a speed setting - 2 & 3 are about the same now, but that's close enoough for me. I didn't want to mess about any more getting the right sort of wire - didn't seem to be worth all the additional effort.
