PS Oh yeah, and don't drop the airbag once removed!

FYI Hedley above said "The repair is difficult and expensive since the air bag has to be disabled with special computer softwear"

This is NOT true, the battery only has to be disconnected and wait five minutes for the airbag's backup supply to drain. Then you can just take it out - which is incredibly fiddly, but no software is needed. Done it several times on MK3 Clios.

Where is the horn fuse on a clio 02plate????

God these french cars are a pain ,like someone has already said one thing after another

Yes this is an easy fix just solder on to the exhisting wires. The only problem is if the end of the wire coming out of the steering colum is to short then you may need to remove air bag to fix

Just the ticket! thanx for the advice lucky. Just mended my girlfriends 05 Clio. Had to solder both black and red wires but the horn is working fine now. Cheers again!

I have a 1.2, i had the same problem my horn wouldn't stop ended up disconnecting it. the problem was in the steering column luckily it came under my warranty. that was a year ago it has just recently happened to me again, apparently its a manufacturing fault! i have decided to replace the horn and get the steering column looked at by a different garage.

'Top Man' Lucky!
That fixed mine as well, but you need to be very
skilled at soldering and close-up work.

ok i just fixed my friends 2003 clio horn for her.

Remove the 2 torx screws under the steering column.
Remove the shroud above the steering column, you will see 2 fairly thin wires 1 red and 1 black, the black wire had actually come off i just re soldered it and now it works fine hope this helps. Only took 10 mins.

If your fuses and wires are ok, then the problem is at the steering wheel end, where the horn switch is incorporated with the air bag. The problem, a design fault - our garage gets one a month - is that the wiring into this snags internally as the wheel is turned and eventually the wires wear through. The repair is difficult and expensive since the air bag has to be disabled with special computer softwear - a garage job.

Hi,
The easiest way to check that you are getting voltage to the horn is to get a multi meter, connect it to the two wires that usually connect to the horn and operate the horn. If the wiring, fuses, horn switch etc are ok, you will get a 12 volt reading. If this is all ok you are probably looking at a new horn. If you don't get a voltage reading you are probably looking at a new horn switch as you have already checked the rest.
Cheers now
