Combi boiler worcester bosch 28i rsf.
My son's combi boiler flow turbine has failed. It looks like it has been damaged by hotwater or steam. The blue restricter has also melted & I found remnants of this in the gauze filter in the C/Water inlet pipe. Both turbine and flow restrictor are in the mains in cold water supply. I can replace the damaged parts but would like to know what/how were they damaged..so that It doesn't happen again..any thoughts?

The water flow is detected by this device. I have also seen it called a flowswitch in the parts/instruction manual.
