how to remove virus from USB?

I have found a virus in my USB due to which folders are not being properly copied or opened once pasted from it. Is there any way of removing the virus?

In a windows environment, just right click on your memory stick then "format". This will clear your stick of EVERYTHING!

Go to Tools-> Folder Options. Now click the View Tab.

Click "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Remove any suspicious files.

If that doesn't work, see this:

Is it your virus protection program that has found the virus or have you surmised a virus from the problems that you have experienced?

Personally, I have AVG free downloaded to my system as virus protection. In Windows Explorer, right click on the USB memory stick drive and select 'Scan for virus'. Allow the program to complete it's scan and then delete any infected files that have been found.
