I would like to know the average oil to gas ratio of a 2cycle engine?

I have 3200 series mac chainsaw and I have a feeling I'm getting the oil/gas mixture wrong. thanks.

Funny when I read this, the Pro38cccsa Chainsaw is 40:1 ratio
(40 parts gas to 1 part 2-stroke oil). So I would be safe to say that all chainsaws are not the same. I am new to this also.

Well I have a 2 stroke petrol strimmer and the ratio is 5:1 (or is that 1:5?!). 5 parts gas to 1 part oil.

Having said that, my strimmer keeps stalling when on idle so I think I will try 6:1 next refill.
