How to adjust/replace my brake light switch on my 2002 peugeot 206?

The brake lights on my 2002 peugeot 206 stay on permanently.
I would like to know if I can adjust the switch or, if it needs replacing, how to do it. If I pull the brake pedal upwards the lights go out so I was wondering if the switch actuating arm could be adjusted.
Thank you,
Steve Chamberlain.

Yes, 30 second repair to an annoying problem. Look under glove box on passenger side of dashboard. The white plug with two orange wires will be either hanging out or partially out, just push it back into the socket.
I dislodged it by removing the rubber mats to clean the car, but you don't realise your brake lights are permanently on until someone following you lets you know.

I would say triple triple thanks to the replier. I just came across this problem and consume an hour to find out the problem in the pedal. Of course, I just got the oil dirt on my hand, and pain on my back. I don't know that's just very easy to fix it until I see this post. Just fix it within 30 seconds this morning. Many Many thanks!!!!!!!

look on the passenger floor under the dash and see if the brake light switch has disconected. usually some passenger that has big feet tends to knock out the switch from its housing.so reconnect the switch which extends from the driver side brake pedal rod, along to the passenger side just under the dash just were people rest their feet you will see the swich just hanging, put it back in its housing mr f, let us know if this is the remedy good luck.
