How can I fix my Creda Concept Solarplus 48339 Cooker ?

Does anyone know how to gain access to fit the light tube in the front control panel ? Ive tried but do not want to force any panels that Im not sure about.

Another "Thumbs Up" for Digger's and Daly's answers....spot on.
I was able to get the cooker dials illuminated again after a long while trying to use torches to see the settings.

press and hold the auto main oven button and adjust the time to the correct time with the plus and minus buttons. once the time is set the oven should work. I found a instruction manual on line. http://www.mediafire.com/view/mv7yx0xw9by6dd5/HB48319.pdf#

The fluorescent light T5 13 W/35 white is also available at Wilkinsons for £1-94. Identical make (GEC) to that at B & Q. Almost half their price.

Thanks guys - just the help I needed too.

Thanks for the info guys. But you don't need to take out 3 screws at the front, the side panels come off by, as you say, the 3 screws at the back then just pulling the bottom of the panel away from the body a little bit then pull at 45 degrees away from the contol panel as there is nothing else holding it other than it is slightly inset into the front and top. this then lets you see the hob screws as digger said.

Excellent instructions that enabled me to change the light without any problems. I would only add two things:
1. You can buy a replacement lamp from Creda online for around £15 but you'll find it only costs around £3.50 at your local B&Q. Look for a 13W/35 flourescent tube.
2. While I was at it I thought it would be a good idea to replace the starter (also from B&Q). I discovered that it was located as far away from the lamp as possible!! You need to remove the back - two screws holding the cover plate over the connections at the bottom right (looking at the rear of the cooker); the top two screws only on the piece sticking out of the back at the top centre and the four screws - two each side of the back plate. The starter is located at the bottom left and can easily be unplugged - bayonet type plug.

This requires some work. It's not as simple as you might think it would be. You have to remove both side panels from the cooker. These should be held by 3 small screws at the front(behind the oven doors) and another 3 at the rear. Then, the panels slide back approx 1 inch. From this position, they simply pull off. Once these are off, you need to remove the screws holding on the hob. There should be 2 at the rear, just below the spacer. These screw vertically. A further 2 screws hold the hob in place. These are located near to the front on both sides, only now exposed with the side panels removed. Remove these, then simply lift the hob up. Do not remove it completely, simply move it back a little and let it balance. You will now see a metal plate with 2 groups of wires going into it. It is held on with 4 screws, 2 on either side. Remove these and the bulb is attached to the rear of this metal plate. The bulb is a F13W/35 fluorescent. Hope this helps and isn't too confusing.
