Does anyone know how to time the 125 gilera engine please help?

I took my gilera apart to sort out the head gasket, i marked every thing up but now it sounds like the piston is hitting the valves any help would be much appreciated.

get the crankshaft onto top dead centre by putting a screwdriver in the plug hole and turning the engine over by hand until the scredriver is as far up as it can go then line the 4v index mark up with the centre mark on the top half of the cylinder head is by the cam sprocket ,make sure the cam chain is tight on the side where the tensioner doesnt go then put the cam chain tensioner in and turn the engine over by hand a few times and check to make sure its all in the right place still ok... i took apart my gilera runner vx 125 4 stroke and couldnt get the timing right after it and this is what i was told and it worked fine
