how do i change the front wheel bearings on my escort?

1.6 x reg and how do i tell which side has gone
james, January 2005
Usual story - you don't say why your wheel bearings need changing -they probably don't. Non-adjustable bearings usually only need replacing because they are creating a noise!

Jack up wheel off the ground. Grip tyre top and bottom and rock gently. You will be able to feel any excessive play. Advise Haynes manual for bearing replacement procedure.
