my kenwood KCD1W tumble dryer does not spin?

My belt has gone as well. I've bought a new one but I can't see how to replace the old. So far I have undone hundreds of screws and am now stuck with removing a fan before I can get to the motor via the back plate. Have I missed something and there is an easier way of getting to the motor?
