no brake lights on vauxhall cavalier 1.8 n reg?

when i put my foot on the brake pedal only the n/side rear fog light comes on nothing else help please.

sorry to say this but think the scrap yards calling your cars name, old car now u will get probs like that. u could always buy another at £100 but that car might not last long either so sarry.

Sounds like you have an earthing problem on your rear light clusters. Brake switch and line to rear looks ok, the reason the fog light illuminates is due to the signal finding the easiest route to earth.

thanks ken, tried that very clean holders and connections still cleant them though. ,ive tried three different b/switches got side lights but no brake lights checked fuse box all ok seems that no live some sort of break somewhere, keep up suggestions please must sort out mr f.

Hi,
look at your rear light clusters for corrosion. You might be getting a dodgy connection back there. Old MK3 ford escorts used to have lights that all worked in sympathy with each other at the rear when they corroded. (brake lights flashing with indicators etc).
