How can i fix my Proline PDW041 Table top dishwasher?

My dishwasher is overfilling before starting the wash cycle. Water then starts to flood from the bottom of the door. Can anyone please help. Age of dishwasher is about 2 years old.

Thanks to the info in this article i was able to fix my proline pdw041 which was exhibiting exactly the same overfilling symptoms described in the question.

in my situation cleaning the grey coloured plastic container was not enough. i had to unscrew from underneath the metal platform which the grey container was sitting on top of, pull off the pipe and blow into it which dislodged the blockage inside the pipe.

many thanks again for your advice as was abt to buy another dishwasher as i wasn't sure i could fix it myself. i had suspected either the timer or float system to be faulty but didn't have confidence to look until i saw your clear instructions.

Malc - thanks for this - the float on my was gunged up. After cleaning it worked fine. The timer is still a little sticky but I can live with that.

One comment is to be careful as the case edges are sharp and bite.

Mine has flooded my kitchen twice now. The reason for mine flooding is a float valve sticking. Unplug and turn off the water first. It requires you to take the lid off, about 15 screws. The float is on the right hand side and the top of it can be released by unclipping the 2 plastic catches. You can then remove the float and clean all gunge off plus all the gunge on the inside of the float chamber. However it will need cleaning about once a year as mine has gunged up and floode twice. I've also read that they flood with faulty door seals but I guess you would be able to see if that was the problem.

I found out what was wrong. It was the float that was stuck and making the machine overfill. the float is situated under the outer cover to the right hand side. It is a grey coloured plastic container with a thin plastic rod that is attached to the float. you need to remove the top of the grey plastic container and clean the float and the inside. This then allows the float to move freely up and down making contact with two micro-switches. Sorted....
