Works a treat on a a Ford Mondeo '08 plate with push button start.

press the brake and accelator with ignition on for 15 seconds then press the ok button on the right hand side of the steering wheel

Don't know if this will work on a 2005 but for the 2007 model the answer is to hold down the accelerator and brake pedals and then switch on the ignition so that the service indicator comes on. Then just wait a few seconds (still with feet on pedals) until the indicator resets.
