How do I take apart, disassemble or fix my Dirt Devil Featherlite vacuum?

I would like to know how to take off the top colored cover. I can't find any areas to snap it off. My son poured some juice in the motor area and I need to clean it out. Vacuum still works, just need to clean it. I took the wheel covers off thinking that if I took the wheels off, I might see a way to separate the top and bottom of the vacuum, but stumped.

Please help?

You need to be careful here. It's not the moisture that is the main problem. Sure it will dry out but it's the sugar in the orange juice that will eventually breed bacteria - bacteria will conduct electricity and the motor may eventually fail.

Featherlite? Orange juice? It could be worse. The top cover DOES snap off, with a screw driver or two, but they can be very stubborn. Don't go any further beyond this. It's not worth it. Don't bother disassembling the motor. Put back together what has already been taken apart. Clean the outside of the vac. the best you can. Let the vac. sit outside on a nice day, so it can dry out. You might smell orange for a little while, but I have seen worse things happen to these things. If you need any more help or parts, our email is arctic@worldlynx.net
