Message says printer has a service issue can you help ?

We have been trying to print from a printer friendly website and we got a message on our Epson C44UX saying that there is a service issue, and the red light keeps flashing. Has anyone any ideas. Printer is about 5yrs old and has done little work.

as the last gentleman said the ink pads ar full and the service counter needs re-setting.
this is a fairly easy job and the pads can be washed dried and replaced.
after doing this the counters can be reset with a resetter disc
(usually available on the internet).
you can remove pipe that drains into pads and route to outside of the printer into a small bottle to catch waste, this way saving the need for stripdown at next service interval.

Good Luck

Hello John
The chances are that the overflow inkpad needs changing, if you have had to clean the heads quite a bit then the excess ink fills an overflow pad somwhere in the bottom of the printer and needs to be changed and the counter reset, printers are set to take so many head cleaning tasks then the information comes up that it needs a service, |I have one done about 18 months ago under warranty and now one of the printers I use now needs doing, it will cost about £40 to have it done, I am going to take mine apart in the next couple of days to see if I can do it myself, I may ruin it but the cost of a new printer is not much more than the service costs so all or nothing, if you want to get back to me in a couple of days I will let you know if it is easy to do.
