wats the reason for replacin the belt has it broke cos if so uve got a lot of replacements to make . moste of the valves and all the cam folowers if ur lucky ether way uve got to take off the cylinderhead to see if thats the only damage done a fair cost were a mechanic is concernd. on the other hand changin the belt for maintance sake is quite easy not many speshal tools needed . if its the older 8 valve losen +remove the FAN belt find the timing markes on the plastic cover behind the crank pully align the cut out on pully with the " o" or TDC position shown ,next using 10mm spaner remove the plastic belt covers on the left of the engin, ule see the cam sproket has a litle noch like the crank one wich will be aligned with a cut out , these align ments are life and death criticle for the engin. loosen and remove the engin fan belt pully use first gear and a helpin foot on the break pedle to hold pully still, then simply slip off the old belt-may need perswasion, chec all marks are still set, now hold up new beltand gradualy slip it on all the sprokets this can be a bich but persivere with it , wen fully on rechek alignment noches DO NOT start the engin until there aligned , refit an tigten fan belt botom pully repit fan belt, if all has gon well she should go well for another 30000 miles, i strongly recomend buying a HAYNES workshop book as it explains very well but the book will try to get u to retension the belt by turnin the water pump , i was told not to disturb it as it tends to leak after woods. good luk
