Ferroli FF77 COMBI PROBLEM?

the pilot light remains but after a day or two when i put on the heat or hot water, the fan goes on but the gas chamber doesn't light up ??? any idea ???
Also once it's working what should be the average setting of the water temperature if you put the thermostat to max (30 degrees). I've heard i should adjust it to 75 degrees before it turns off, is this true ? THanks a lot

Thanks again for the help you're giving me. The boiler stopped again so i decided to do a service my self to see if that would change anything. I had to fix the joint around it to make it 100 % airtight , then cleaned the inside of gas chamber where i saw a water leak that keeps falling on the element that where really dirty and rusty colored (so cleaned that), cleaned and gently oiled the fan and now it seems it's working much better, pilot light actually made a nice click noise when i turned it back on and the gas chamber lights up now around 55 degrees as before it used to only start around 40. The only thing so far that still bothers me in these little leaks in the gas chamber (found 2 of a drop every 30 sec i would say ) Witch i think is the reason i have to top up the boiler with water every 4 days or else it goes under 1 bar pressure when cold. I've been told that you need to have at least 1 bar pressure when cold before turning on the heat.

Does sound like the overheat is cutting in and out. The 77ff is supect for this kind of fault. Try turning the temperature control down. If this reduces the incidence of shut downs it would confirm a temperature problem. You will probably need to get a service engineer to take it further because one of the two o/heat stats is inside the burner chamber and there are things that need to be done which require a working knowledge of the gas regulations and safety procedure's. Try to get someone that has worked for someone you know ( friends or family) . Good question to ask is "would you hve then back to your boiler?" good luck..

THanks alot this really helped. I forgot to mention that i remember just before it started not lighting up , i've noticed that when i tryed to run it no heat would come on and then realised that the water pressure was near 0 there for i added water up to 1-1.5 max bar and then after trying hard it suddently came on. And to reply to your question in the other post, it wasn't possible for a while to light up the pilot light with the knob (tried to do it with a match from the window inside and that worked but still the gas chamber wouldn't come on ). So as far as i can understand because there was no more water you rekon it's the over heating switch that blocked the gas chamber from lighting ? I have now added water a few days ago, got it to work again but 2 days later, same problem, the pilot light remained but the gas chamber didn't light up. Turned the pilot light off tried to re-light it, wouldn't work. Suddently after trying all day it came back on. Now it's been another 2 days and it seems to be working fine. I'll just see if it stops again !!!

Thanks again for your help

Same answer as the "ferrolli boiler" question further down. But you are right it should go above thirty degrees. The temp control is only there to work on the central heating side of things and it can go up to 75 or above although i wouldn't recomend much above 60 if you have children around.
