Does anybody know how to fix my hob. I cme home from work to find the fuse in the consumer unit had tripped, effectively the hob had failed when it was not being used. I have taken the top off the hob and can see no visible scorching or broken parts.
I have 2 of the 4 rings working, the 2 that do not work have no illumation from the control strip.

Just dismantled my DD DTi 600V which lost 2 rings right out of warranty.
Turns out DD designed thin traces on neutral lines on the circuit board which are 100% bound to fail over time,knocking out at least 2 rings if not all control circuit,depending which of 2 neutral lines fail.
Looks like they could be bridged to effect a repair,not bothered with mine cos the wife wanted good old fashioned hob

i had the same problem. turned off the power at the mains for an hour. then turned on again - and it worked!

Cokerbloke: Your post was only a few months ago and you may have solved your problem by now but I've had the same problem with a DTi704V. It failed within 1 week of 2 year guarantee (actually 1 day off 2 years from fitting) 3 weeks before Xmas 2010:De dietrich have totally no interest.

It's possibly too late for Clive & Tim but you never know.

It's likely that the Power Card supplying the side that has stopped working has failed. If you look to some web sites the cost of repair is £165-£175 - fixed cost.
