My Sanivite plus keeps on running?

Why does my sanivite pump keep running after it has expelled the water, it stops after running continuously for 2 or 3 minutes.

the switch inside that activates it to start may be sticking. take it out and remove lid and wash out. but isolate first.
or the blade in side it will have your hand off
