Is it easy to service a diesal focus 53 plate 1.8 TDCi?

How easy is it to do a basic service and what would be the best way to go about it?

Basic service is only oil and filter - make certain that you only use 5-30 oil to Ford specification. Oil filter is the large plastic cylinder at front of engine behind bumper - be careful undoing it (large plastic hex at bottom of filter casing) and filter is paper.
