How can i fix my 1999 ldv pilot van?

The van is in good condition and runs well, the only thing is it seems fairly sluggish, it a 1.9 pegeot engine. If anyone has any ideas on how to improve it, i would be greatful

i have just had the same prob ,,it was the air pipe right at the back of the top of the engine ,,,its about 8" long with 2 clips holding it on ,,,,i had a split in it and it was sucking and blowing air out ,,,,,,,now the van goes great

first check to see if it's getting full throttle, make sure silencer is clear ,check air cleaner is not bunged , some of the later vans have a vac operated flap in air box top of engine check to see if working ok, you may need to check valve/pump timing it may be out slightly.
