clutch cable adjustment?

Whilst the clutch is depressed in gear, the car moves forward. How do I adjust the clutch cable? Do I lengthen or shorten the cable adjustment? Vauxhall cavalier 1.8 tdi 1994

if adjusting cable dos'nt cure it, sometimes top end of cable fitting to body fractures.worth checking before any major work on clutch.

Hi,
you have a threaded connector where the cable attaches to the operating lever on the engine. Wind it in a couple of turns and check for clutch drag again. You have to find the happy medium between clutch slip and drag (initially shorten it).
Cheers now
