how to make it run except on full choke?

Crank new trimmer with choke on, fires up runs smooth go to half choke and 7 seconds it quits with throttle wild open. Only adjustment is an idle screw. It is a fuel air mixture problem, and no screw adjustment. It has two tapered head adjustment things under the carb. you can fit anything to them, where do you get the special tool?

I had the same problem and am looking for the tool to adjust the carb. I had a large aluminum pop rivet that I pushed the pin out of, then used a punch to enlarge the hole so I could get it to fit over the end of the screws enough to turn it. If you can find a piece of hard plastic that will fit over the screws or can be drilled enough to be pushed onto the screws to turn them would work. The screws are not that hard to turn. My next trip to Sears will be to ask where I can get the right tool for the job. Anyway, I got mine adjusted and running
much better than it was...at least I can cut grass with it.
