I have a diesel 1.7 corsa, normally starts no worries, now turn the key and just clicks, any ideas to fix?

Hi,
Before you get into solenoids and stuff, try checking cables and leads. Don't forget that when you start a car it's like a direct short to earth, so if you have a dodgy earth from the starter motor for instance, you will get diddly. Put a meter across your battery too, check that it actually has the power to start the car.
