I have escort 55 diesel van with no 5th gear, after attempting to change the gear box it appears the gearbox is the wrong type. My gearbox seems to be all in built, what type of box will I need and do they install them in any ither makes?
if your g/box is the wrong are you sure it,s not a 4 speed from an older model,5 gear boxes have an extended end cover,about 1.5in. longer than the 4 speed,the diesel box has different ratios
