I have just stripped down my unit which had same fault symtoms as you say and found that a soldered link which carries the power to the controls was broken and had been shorting out causing excessive heat which melted the chocolate block resulting in no power to parts of the cooker control panel. I believe a repair man should be able to source spare heat resistant chocolate block and reterminate all the links to get the unit working again.
Best of luck - you must use an electrician or electrical technician who shall know how to assess fault symtoms safely
