my speedometer needle on my mk6 escort keeps shaking when i hit 60ish it evens out and stops but anything lower and the needle tends to bop up and down resulting in me getting a speeding ticket -.- can anyone help?

at the end of the speedo cable on the gear box there is a plastic cog about 2" long after time it weres out the teeth get worn just unscreew cap at the bottom of the speedo cable which is at the top of the gear box and take it out and replace it with a new its easy to do it should be (red or black)
